Target Information
Immunoglobulin Y (IgY), abbreviated as IgY, serves as the primary antibody in the blood of birds, reptiles, and lungfish. Interestingly, it is also abundant in chicken egg yolk. Like other immunoglobulins, IgY is a class of proteins produced by the immune system in response to specific foreign substances, allowing it to recognize and target them. Chicken egg yolk antibody (IgY) is naturally deposited in the egg yolk to protect the offsprings from dreadful pathogens. It poses greater advantages than mammalian IgG including high yield, low cost and convenience.
