Bovine parathyroid hormone (PTH) is a key regulator of calcium homeostasis and bone metabolism in cattle. It acts on osteoblasts and osteoclasts, influencing bone remodeling through the parathyroid hormone 1 receptor (PTH1R). PTH enhances osteoclast bone resorption by modulating the vacuolar-type H+ adenosine triphosphatase (V-ATPase), which plays a crucial role in cellular acidification and bone resorption.
