Product Overview
BioVenic mouse monoclonal antibody is specific for canine beta-secretase. It can be applied to WB assay of canine beta-secretase.
Specifications
Target Information
Beta-secretase (BACE) is a transmembrane aspartyl protease that plays a pivotal role in the amyloid pathway of Alzheimer's disease. It catalyzes the first step in the cleavage of amyloid precursor protein (APP) to generate amyloid-beta peptides, which aggregate to form amyloid plaques in the brains of Alzheimer's patients. BACE's activity is tightly regulated and its upregulation has been linked to increased amyloid-beta production. Inhibition of BACE has been a major focus in the development of Alzheimer's therapies due to its critical role in amyloid-beta generation.
