Target Information

Porcine integrin-linked kinase (pILK) is a serine/threonine protein kinase that plays a crucial role in cellular signaling pathways, particularly those involved in cell adhesion, survival, and the organization of the actin cytoskeleton. pILK is often associated with integrin signaling, which is essential for the transmission of extracellular signals that influence cell behavior and function. This enzyme is highly expressed in various tissues and is particularly important in cells that require strong adhesion to the extracellular matrix, such as muscle, bone, and epithelial cells. In pigs, pILK contributes to the maintenance of tissue integrity and the regulation of cell responses to mechanical stress.
