Target Information

Canine galectin 12 (LGALS12) is a member of the galectin family, predominantly expressed in adipose tissue and involved in various biological processes. It binds to lactose and may play a role in the apoptosis of adipocytes. Galectin 12 is also implicated in cell cycle regulation, causing G1 arrest when overexpressed. This protein is expressed in peripheral blood leukocytes and adipocytes, and its expression is downregulated by insulin resistance-inducing hormones, suggesting a role in metabolic disorders.
