Target Information
Porcine adaptor-related protein complex subunit beta (pAP-2) is a crucial component of the clathrin-associated adaptor protein (AP) complex, which plays a central role in the process of clathrin-mediated endocytosis in pigs. This complex is essential for the internalization of membrane proteins and lipids, facilitating the transport of various molecules into cells. pAP-2 is involved in the recognition and binding of cargo molecules destined for endocytosis, such as receptors and nutrients. It helps to assemble the clathrin lattice, a structure that forms a vesicle around the cargo, leading to the formation of endocytic vesicles that are pinched off from the plasma membrane.
