Inquiry Now

BioVenic has an advanced technology platform and extensive experience in the field of animal related research and development, which allows us to develop systematic ruminant breeding and research solutions specific to our customers' different project objectives. Our dedicated scientists will work closely with you at every step of your project to better assist you to promote your projects.

Ruminants

Ruminants are mammals of the suborder Ruminantia and include animals in the families of Camelidae, Antilocapridae, Cervidae, Bovidae, Ovidae, and Giraffidae that chew their cud. The respective examples are camels, antelope, deer, cattle, sheep, and giraffes. Ruminants have a unique digestive system that allows them to obtain nutrients from plant foods by fermenting them in specialized stomachs prior to digestion. This process, known as foregut fermentation, works primarily through microorganisms in the digestive system and typically requires the fermented ingesta (known as cud) to be regurgitated and chewed again. At present, the ruminants that have been specifically domesticated and used for meat, fur, and dairy production mainly include beef cattle, dairy cattle, sheep, and goats. With the advancement of modern molecular technics and artificial intelligence-based data analysis, we directly mark and select genes of good traits at the molecular level, which greatly improves the efficiency as well as the accuracy of animal breeding. We focus on ruminant health and provide drug development services for ruminant disease prevention, diagnostics, and treatment. We also help to study ruminant nutrition and develop silage, TMR, and additives for ruminants.
