Target Information

Angiogenin (ANG) is a 14.1 kDa protein that was identified based on its capacity to stimulate blood vessel growth in vivo. It was first isolated from human tumor-cell-conditioned medium, but has also been found in normal body fluids, such as blood and milk. It also exhibits ribonucleolytic activity, albeit of markedly different magnitude from that of other RNases. In younger piglets, ANG gene polymorphism was associated with the severity of iron deficiency.
