Target Information

Other than cholesterol, dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) is the predominant circulating steroid in humans. It is a precursor in the biosynthesis of testosterone and estrogen. Evidence has shown that DHEA may regulate fat synthesis, fat mobilization of steroid triglycerides, and fatty acid oxidation for energy. Its pattern of production parallels that of the development of Leydig cells in the boar testes.
