Target Information

Tissue Inhibitor of Metalloproteinases 1 (TIMP-1), together with locally produced specific inhibitors and plasminogen activator inhibitor-i (PAI-I), control the increased ovarian proteolytic activity associated with ovulation. In pig ovarian cells, TIMP-1 controls tissue remodelling and may also regulate steroidogenesis.
