Target Information
Porcine inhibin alpha (INHA) is a subunit of the inhibin complex, a dimeric glycoprotein hormone that regulates follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) secretion from the pituitary gland. It is a member of the TGF-β superfamily and is involved in reproductive processes, including folliculogenesis and gametogenesis. Inhibin alpha forms heterodimers with beta subunits (βA or βB) to create inhibin A or inhibin B, which have distinct roles in hormone regulation and cell proliferation. In porcine systems, INHA is expressed in granulosa cells and oocytes, influencing oocyte maturation and follicle development.
