Target Information

Clostridium novyi is a gram-positive, motile, spore-forming anaerobic bacterium. Infections ofClostridium novyi in sheep and cattle are occasionally referred to as "black disease" because blood gathers in the vasculature beneath the skin, causing it to darken as blood clots form and then lyse.
