Target Information

Bovine pregnancy-associated glycoproteins (PAGs) are members of the asialoglycoprotein family, specifically related to the major histocompatibility complex class I molecules. These glycoproteins are produced during pregnancy in cattle and are closely associated with the establishment and maintenance of a successful pregnancy. PAGs are believed to play a critical role in placental function, contributing to the immunological adaptation that allows the semi-allogeneic fetus to develop without being rejected by the maternal immune system. The presence of PAGs in maternal circulation is a reliable indicator of pregnancy, making them valuable markers for pregnancy diagnosis in cattle.
