Target Information

Porcine alkaline phosphatase (pALP) is an enzyme that is widely distributed in various tissues of pigs, with particularly high concentrations found in the liver, bone, and kidney. This metalloenzyme is known for its ability to catalyze the hydrolysis of alkaline phosphatase substrates, playing a crucial role in the metabolism of phosphorus compounds. pALP is involved in multiple biological processes, including bone mineralization, where it helps in the regulation of inorganic phosphate levels, and in the detoxification of lipid-soluble vitamins. The enzyme is also important for the intestinal absorption of certain nutrients.
