Target Information
Porcine peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor delta (PPARδ), also known as PPARβ, is a nuclear receptor protein that plays a significant role in the regulation of energy balance, lipid metabolism, and inflammation in pigs. PPARδ is a transcription factor that, upon activation by fatty acids and their derivatives, modulates the expression of target genes involved in various metabolic pathways. This receptor is highly expressed in tissues with high metabolic activity, such as the liver, muscle, and adipose tissue, where it contributes to the control of fatty acid oxidation, glucose homeostasis, and the development of metabolic disorders. PPARδ also plays a role in the regulation of muscle fiber type, which can influence muscle function and meat quality.
