Target Information

Cluster of differentiation 16 (CD16), also known as FCGR3A is a receptor for the invariable Fc fragment of immunoglobulin gamma (IgG). CD16 is involved in the removal of antigen-antibody complexes from the circulation, as well as other responses, including antibody dependent cellular mediated cytotoxicity and antibody dependent enhancement of virus infections. CD16 could specifically bind to the porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome disease virus-antibody immune complex and subsequently mediate internalization of the virus, resulting in the generation of progeny virus.
