Target Information
Chicken STAT1 (Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 1) is a transcription factor involved in upregulating genes in response to interferons (IFNs) and other cytokines. It mediates cellular responses to type I and type II IFNs, leading to the activation of antiviral and immune-related genes. STAT1 is phosphorylated by JAK kinases upon IFN binding, forming dimers that translocate to the nucleus and regulate gene expression. Mutations in STAT1 are associated with severe viral infections.
