Target Information
Porcine Glyceraldehyde-3-Phosphate Dehydrogenase (GAPDH) is a multifunctional enzyme involved in glycolysis, catalyzing the conversion of glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate to 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate. It exists as a tetramer of identical 37-kDa subunits and is highly conserved across species, including pigs. In addition to its glycolytic role, GAPDH is involved in DNA repair, RNA transport, and apoptosis. Due to its stable and constitutive expression in most tissues, GAPDH is widely used as a loading control in Western Blot and other biochemical assays.
