Porcine S100 calcium binding protein B (pS100B) is a member of the S100 family of calcium-binding proteins, which are characterized by their ability to bind calcium ions and regulate a variety of cellular processes. pS100B is predominantly found in the brain and is involved in the development and maintenance of the nervous system in pigs. It is also expressed in other tissues, including the skin, where it contributes to the regulation of cell proliferation and differentiation.
