Target Information

Interferon beta (IFN-beta), also known as fibroblast IFN is a cytokine produced by macrophages and epithelial and fibroblast cells. Its expression in swine peripheral blood leukocytes stimulated by pseudorabies virus (PRV) was demonstrated at the RNA level. IFN-beta reduces myeloid dendritic concentrations in peripheral blood. IFN-beta also can alter the function of dendritic cells and other APCs to downregulate antigen presentation and the ability of APCs to stimulate T-cell responses.
