Target Information
Bovine inhibin alpha is a critical subunit of the inhibin protein complex, primarily involved in regulating reproductive processes in cattle. It is synthesized by ovarian granulosa cells and theca cells, contributing significantly to the formation of inhibin A (αβA) and inhibin B (αβB). Inhibin Alpha plays a key role in the negative feedback loop that regulates the secretion of follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) from the anterior pituitary gland, thereby influencing follicular development and ovarian function. Additionally, it is involved in paracrine signaling within the ovary, affecting granulosa cell proliferation, apoptosis, and steroidogenesis.
