Target Information
Canine E-Selectin, also known as CD62E or ELAM-1, is a cell adhesion molecule expressed on activated endothelial cells and plays a pivotal role in inflammation and immune responses in dogs. It is involved in the recruitment of leukocytes to sites of inflammation by mediating their adhesion to the endothelium. E-Selectin recognizes and binds to sialylated carbohydrates on leukocytes, capturing and slowing them down to facilitate integrin activation and transmigration into tissues. This molecule is implicated in various disorders, including inflammatory bowel disease, dermatitis, and is targeted for therapeutic intervention in conditions involving aberrant immune cell trafficking.
