Porcine phosphoglycerate kinase 2 (PGK2) is a testis-specific isoform of the phosphoglycerate kinase (PGK) family, which plays a crucial role in energy metabolism by catalyzing the conversion of 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate to 3-phosphoglycerate in glycolysis. The porcine PGK2 gene has been characterized and is known to be expressed solely in the testis, as revealed by real-time quantitative PCR.
