Target Information
Bovine glucose-regulated protein 94 (GRP94) is an endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-resident member of the heat shock protein 90 (HSP90) family, playing a pivotal role in protein homeostasis and folding within the ER. It is also known as tumor rejection antigen 1 (TRA1), gp96, and endoplasmin, and is strongly induced by glucose starvation. GRP94 is the most abundant intraluminal ER chaperone protein that aids in protein synthesis, particularly under stress conditions that perturb ER functions, such as oxidative stress and accumulation of misfolded proteins.
