Target Information

Chicken tubulin beta 3 (cTUBB3), also known as class III β-tubulin, is a member of the tubulin superfamily in chickens and is a key component of the cytoskeleton. Tubulins are the building blocks of microtubules, which are essential for maintaining cell shape, facilitating intracellular transport, and playing a critical role in cell division and mitotic spindle formation. cTUBB3 is particularly important in neuronal cells, where it contributes to the stability and formation of axons and dendrites. This isoform of β-tubulin is often expressed in the developing brain and in certain regions of the adult central nervous system, suggesting a role in neuronal development and maintenance.
