Target Information
Porcine caudal type homeobox 2 (pCDX2) is a transcription factor belonging to the caudal-type homeobox family, which is highly conserved across species. This protein plays a pivotal role in the development and differentiation of the intestinal epithelium in pigs, including both the small and large intestines. It is characterized by its homeodomain, which allows it to bind to specific DNA sequences and regulate the expression of target genes. pCDX2 is essential for the formation of the villi and crypts in the intestinal mucosa, which are critical for nutrient absorption and the maintenance of intestinal homeostasis. It is also involved in the regulation of genes related to cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis within the intestinal epithelium
