Target Information
Porcine eukaryotic translation elongation factor 1 gamma (eEF1G), also known as eEF1A gamma, is a component of the elongation factor 1 (eEF1) complex, which plays a critical role in protein synthesis. This complex, comprising eEF1A, eEF1B, and eEF1G, facilitates the elongation phase of translation by delivering aminoacyl-tRNAs to the ribosome in a GTP-dependent manner. As a molecular target, eEF1G is significant due to its essential function in the regulation of protein synthesis. Disruptions in the elongation process can lead to various pathological conditions, including certain genetic disorders and diseases characterized by altered protein synthesis, such as cancer and neurological diseases.
