Target Information
Dihydrolipoyllysine residue succinyltransferase component of the mitochondrial 2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex is an enzyme within the mitochondrial 2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex, involved in the Krebs cycle. DLST catalyzes a crucial step in the conversion of pyruvate to acetyl-CoA, transferring a succinyl group to a specific component within the complex. It is encoded by the bovine gene DLST. It is a tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle enzyme. Research has shown that either depletion or inhibition of DLST in dependent cells results in reduced invasion and metastasis in vitro and in vivo.
