Target Information

Bovine dystrobrevin binding protein 1 is encoded by the DTNBP1 gene in cattle. This gene encodes a protein that may play a role in the biogenesis of organelles associated with melanosomes, platelet dense granules and lysosomes. A similar protein in the mouse is a component of a protein complex called biogenesis of lysosome-related organelles complex 1 (BLOC-1) and binds to alpha- and beta-dystrobrevins, which are components of the dystrophin-associated protein complex (DPC). DTNA and DTNB are members of the dystrophin-associated protein complex, which links the cytoskeleton to the extracellular matrix and acts as a scaffold for signalling proteins.

Target/Biomarker Bovine DTNBP1
Target Synonym dysbindin; BLOC-1 subunit 8; biogenesis of lysosome-related organelles complex 1 subunit 8; dysbindin-1
