Target Information

Glutamine synthetase (GS) is an essential enzyme involved in the cellular metabolism of nitrogen. It plays a crucial role by catalyzing the condensation of glutamate and ammonia to form glutamine. Bovine Glutamine Synthetase is encoded by the GLUL gene in cattle. Research has shown that GLUL gene is induced by activation of the β-catenin pathway in hepatocellular carcinoma and hepatoblastoma.

Target/Biomarker Bovine GLUL
Target Synonym glutamate-ammonia ligase; glutamine synthetase; GS; glutamate decarboxylase; glutamate-ammonia ligase (glutamine synthase); palmitoyltransferase GLUL
Gene ID 281199
UniProt ID P15103
