Target Information

Bovine Histone Deacetylase 1 is encoded by the HDAC1 gene in cattle. HDAC1 belongs to a class of enzymes known as histone deacetylases (HDACs). These enzymes remove acetyl groups from an ε-N-acetyl lysine amino acid on both histone and non-histone proteins. Research has suggested that the decreased level of HAT1 and increased level of HDAC1 may result in the decreased H3K9 acetylation in cattle-yaks and might be associated with their sterility.
