Target Information

Endonuclease 8-Like 3 (Neil3) is a DNA glycosylase involved in the base excision repair pathway. It safeguards cells from oxidative DNA damage by excising a wide range of cytotoxic and mutagenic base lesions. Bovine Endonuclease 8-Like 3 is encoded by the NEIL3 gene in cattle. Neil3 exhibits DNA glycosylase activity and AP-lyase activity specific for ssDNA and is considered the main DNA glycosylase for removal of hydantoins in ssDNA.
