Target Information

Phospholipase D2 (PLD2) is an enzyme belonging to the phospholipase superfamily. It is a transphosphatidylase, which mediates the exchange of polar headgroups covalently attached to membrane-bound lipids. It catalyzes the cleavage of the phosphodiester bond in structural phospholipids such as phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine. Bovine Phospholipase D2 is encoded by the PLD2 gene in cattle. It has been reported that upregulation of PLD2 is involved in oncogenic signaling and tumorigenesis.
