Target Information

Bovine Suppressor of Cytokine Signaling 3 is encoded by the SOCS3 gene in cattle. SOCS3 is part of a classical negative feedback system that regulates cytokine signal transduction. This protein inhibits the JAK-STAT signaling pathway, which regulates various inflammatory responses by blocking STAT3. SOCS3 inhibits cytokine signal transduction by binding to tyrosine kinase receptors, including IL6ST/gp130, LIF, and erythropoietin. It is involved in the development and involution of bovine mammary glands.
