Immortalized bovine thyroid epithelial primary cells are isolated from bovine thyroid and exhibited an extended lifespan compared to normal primary cells. Primary cells are immortalized by overexpressing rat sarcoma virus oncogene (Ras). Bovine thyroid epithelial primary cell products are utilized in various standard biochemical procedures to characterize cell products and derivatives, as well as to investigate cell-cell interactions.
