Target Information
Insulin is encoded by the INS gene in dogs. The canine INS gene encodes the 110 amino acid protein preproinsulin. Following cleavage of the signal peptide, proinsulin undergoes folding with the formation of three disulphide bonds to attain its mature three-dimensional globoid conformation.
