Target Information

Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin that is essential for the synthesis of collagen, a protein important in the formation of connective tissue and in wound healing. It acts as an antioxidant, protecting against damage by reactive molecules called free radicals. In a caprine model, it has been reported that vitamin C administration to animals prior to transportation may ameliorate the depression often encountered after road transportation.
