Target Information
Homing Associated Cell Adhesion Molecule is encoded by the CD44 gene in horses. It is one of the specific receptors of hyaluronan. Its binding modulates the transduction of intracellular signals that control a variety of processes, including embryogenesis, wound healing, inflammation, and neoplasia. CD44 is also known to modulate cell movement and differentiation and is present at multiple sites in the reproductive tract of normal mares.
