Target Information

Arachidonic acid (AA) is an essential fatty acid and a precursor in the biosynthesis of prostaglandins, thromboxanes, and leukotrienes. Arachidonic acid has a 20-carbon chain and four cis-double bonds. The first double bond is located at the sixth carbon from the omega end. In cats, it is reasonable to assume that tissue levels of arachidonic acid are not the major factor associated with developmental abnormalities in the offspring.
