Canine IgG1 is a subclass of immunoglobulin G that plays a critical role in the immune response of dogs. It functions by binding to antigens, facilitating their neutralization, opsonization, and clearance through immune effector mechanisms. IgG1 is involved in various immune processes, including mediating antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC) and complement activation. This subclass is also implicated in autoimmune responses, where it can form autoantibodies against self-antigens, such as erythrocytes, nuclear antigens, and thyroglobulin.
