Target Information

Chicken caspase 9 is an initiator caspase that plays a pivotal role in the regulation of apoptosis in avian species. As part of the intrinsic or mitochondrial pathway, caspase 9 is activated in response to cellular stress signals that lead to the permeabilization of the mitochondrial membrane and the release of cytochrome c. Upon activation, caspase 9 initiates a cascade of proteolytic events that ultimately leads to the activation of effector caspases, resulting in the characteristic morphological and biochemical changes associated with apoptosis.
