Target Information
Chicken glutamic-oxaloacetic transaminase 1 (cGOT1), also known as aspartate transaminase or aspartate aminotransferase, is an enzyme that plays a crucial role in the metabolic pathway involving the transfer of an amino group from aspartate to α-ketoglutarate, producing glutamate and oxaloacetate. cGOT1 is widely distributed in various tissues, with particularly high levels found in the heart, skeletal muscle, and kidneys of chickens. This enzyme is involved in the citric acid cycle, also known as the Krebs cycle or TCA cycle, and in the synthesis and breakdown of amino acids.
