Mouse Anti-Duck IgA1 Heavy Chain Monoclonal Antibody

Duck IgA1 heavy chain is a key component of the immunoglobulin A1 (IgA1) isotype, which plays a crucial role in mucosal immunity in ducks. IgA1 is one of the major immunoglobulin classes in ducks, providing a first line of defense against pathogens at mucosal surfaces such as the respiratory and gastrointestinal tracts. The IgA1 heavy chain, along with its associated light chains, forms a dimeric structure stabilized by the J chain, which enhances its function in neutralizing pathogens. This immunoglobulin is also transported across epithelial cells via the polymeric immunoglobulin receptor (pIgR), allowing it to be present in secretory fluids like saliva and breast milk. IgA1 is involved in various immune pathways, including the activation of the alternative complement pathway, which helps in the removal of pathogens.
