Target Information

Porcine fetuin B (FETUB), also known as α2-Heremans-Schmid glycoprotein (AHSG), is a serum protein found in pigs that plays a multifaceted role in metabolic and inflammatory processes. FETUB is a glycoprotein that belongs to the cystatin superfamily of proteins, which are known for their cysteine protease inhibitory activity. This protein is involved in the regulation of calcium homeostasis and has been shown to bind to and transport calcium and other minerals in the blood. Additionally, FETUB has anti-inflammatory properties and is believed to modulate the immune response by inhibiting certain proteases that can lead to inflammation.
