Target Information

Porcine syntaxin 1B (pSTX1B) is a member of the syntaxin protein family, which are integral components of the SNARE (Soluble NSF Attachment Protein Receptor) complex. This complex is essential for the process of membrane fusion, particularly in the neuronal vesicular trafficking and the release of neurotransmitters at the synapses. pSTX1B, as a part of the synaptic vesicle fusion machinery, plays a critical role in the regulation of neurotransmitter release, which is fundamental for synaptic transmission and neuronal communication. It interacts with other SNARE proteins and regulatory proteins to ensure the precise timing and location of vesicle fusion events.
