Target Information
Aminopeptidases catalyze the cleavage of amino acids from the amino terminus of protein or peptide substrates. They are widely distributed throughout the animal and plant kingdoms. Aminopeptidase N is encoded by the ANPEP gene in pigs. Porcine ANPEP is a type II membrane metallopeptidase that consists of 963 amino acids. Its primary function is to remove N-terminal amino acids from protein substrates during digestion.
