Target Information

Galanin Peptides is encoded by the GAL gene in pigs. It plays diverse roles and has been implicated in various biological functions. Galanin is a neurohormone and neurotransmitter that regulates food intake, insulin levels, and somatostatin release in the neuroendocrine axis. It is expressed in the central nervous system, including the hypothalamus, pituitary, and spinal cord, and co-localizes with other neuronal peptides within neurons.
