Target Information

Lysozyme is an enzyme with antibacterial activity that breaks down bacterial cell walls by cleaving glycosidic bonds between sugar molecules. It is found in various tissues and secretions, including tears, saliva, mucus, and immune cells. It is encoded by the LYZ gene in pigs. Lysozyme is a naturally occurring enzyme found in bodily secretions, such as tears, saliva, and milk. It can be used as a substitute for growth-promoting subtherapeutic antibiotics in swine feed.
