Specifications
Target Information
Luteinizing hormone is produced by gonadotropic cells in the anterior pituitary gland. Its production is regulated by gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) from the hypothalamus. LH is a heterodimeric glycoprotein, consisting of one alpha and one beta subunit, each being a glycoprotein molecule, together forming the complete functional protein. In rabbits, luteinizing hormone secretion is regulated by a short-loop feedback mechanism. Exogenous injection of human LH (hLH) inhibits LH secretion in rabbits but has no effect on follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) secretion.
