Target Information

African swine fever is a highly contagious and deadly viral disease that affects both domestic and wild pigs of all ages. The African swine fever virus (ASFV) is a complex enveloped DNA virus that expresses two polyprotein precursors, pp220 and pp62. After undergoing proteolytic processing, these precursors produce several major components of the viral particle. Early research suggests that the mature products p150, p37, p34, p14, and p5, derived from the polyprotein pp220, along with p35, p15, and p8 from polyprotein pp62, constitute the fundamental components of the core shell.
